DESERT KING blk. H, APPALOOSA, 1922
| Color: blk
unreg.
Also known as TAVISHEEN, Jazzo Unregistered There are conflicting stories of how DESERT KING was bred and where he came from. In the 1920s noted author Arnold R. Rojas said he was an Argentine Import; in 1946 the Meekers called him a Libyan Leopard; in 1990 Don LaLonde called him a product of a Ghost Wind! Dr. Francis Haines could find no connection in their pedigrees to Libya, Tunisia or Leopard Barbs, but he did discover Desert King's true lineage. He was by Pharoah out of the Argentinian import Tavisheen. Pharoah was by Blue Hawk, by Winged Hawk This independently confirms Famous Author Don LaLonde (author of The Story of the Ghost Wind Stallions) Questions: [email protected] Tavisheen or Desert King mare
